I’m A Much Worthy Person Than The Gits Who Hustled Me

Very Well, so the Kalmindon disaster is resolved. I know I’ve been diddled by a couple of very smart brothers with a very creditable hook, it’s cost me 3k that I shelled out for SEO training that I could have found from the internet for zero quid, with no prospect at all of the expected clientele that was ‘guaranteed upon course completion’ appearing. They were said to have a ‘pool of clients’ waiting to have their website optimised and they would merely join me up with the ones either in or adjacent to the Black Country.

Of course the spiteful thing, which applies for all of us who have been scammed, is not the loot that we all paid out to the Brothers Grim, but the resources we used up in the meantime. Because they gave us a site of their own to go with which required lots of articles, 50 in my case, in the expectation that a paying client was forthcoming and I could start to earn some sort of income. In my case that means that because I started the training in April I have been using up my own money to support us during that term and now here we are in November and it is nearly all gone. Luckily, the cost of living in the Black Country is much reduced than it would be in many areas, but it couldn’t last forever, and it hasn’t.

But, what I have come away with is the knowledge that I wasn’t alone and some bright folks have also been swindled equally so I am not the only berk. The other is that I have learnt how to do SEO, something that I did not actually know existed before the episode but now I get it and really satisfaction from doing it. To me, SEO is the idyllic job as my missus is having chemotherapy at the moment which needs frequent trips to hospitals around the Black Country and I can go off for a bit to go with her.

I had already been performing a little IT support for small businesses in the Black Country though it just extended to the occasional call to attach a printer or resuscitate a crashed computer, not as often as I would prefer obviously. But what I can do now is to mix both skills and offer SEO and IT support and hopefully attract regular business coming in.

But while I try to sort out something, I may have to see about a position at the Scottish burger restaurant or behind a bar somewhere but it is not likely to help very much as the 1st Mrs Izzard is about to go on half salary from next month as she has been off sick for treatment for 6 months now. Which is of course another rather inopportune case of timing as far as the swindle of time and money by Kalmindon is concerned.

So, although I’m not a native of the Black Country I have found them to be largely joyful and positive folk, and I will endeavour to adopt that outlook as I am, after all a considerably better person than the cheats who probably feel very pleased and clever at having done me and the rest. But then that is perhaps how sociopaths operate and I am a good fellow. So there. *Blows a raspberry!*
